CSN Dundas Valley is a corporately owned and operated flagship location within the CSN Collision network. As the first Concept Store of its kind, this facility serves a dual purpose: it operates as a fully functional collision repair centre while also acting as an innovation hub for the CSN brand. Designed to pilot new technologies, products, and operational processes, CSN Dundas Valley plays a key role in refining initiatives prior to broader rollout across the network. Its strategic focus is to drive enhanced performance, streamline efficiencies, and support scalable solutions that contribute to the ongoing growth and success of CSN locations nationwide.

Summary

We are looking for a Collision Estimator to join our team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent position. The role of the Appraiser/Estimator is to accurately assess vehicle damage and prepare estimates that align with insurer, OEM, and internal guidelines. Requires strong attention to detail, understanding of repair impacts, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Delivers clear communication and excellent service to customers while remaining accountable to the team. Reliability, responsiveness, and a solution-focused mindset are key to success in this role.

Primary Objectives of the role

  • Deliver Accurate, Complete Estimates
    Identify and document all claim-related and OEM-required repairs, including hidden damage, disassembly when needed, and supplement revisions.
  • Ensure Compliance with Insurer and OEM Standards
    Research and apply insurer guidelines and OEM procedures (via RepairLogic, OEM sites), including calibrations and quality control throughout the repair.
  • Manage Customer Expectations and Communication
    Clearly explain the repair process, timelines, and damages (claim vs. prior damage); provide updates and address concerns professionally. Offer additional solutions for prior damage.
  • Support the Repair Process Through Data Accuracy
    Maintain up-to-date, accurate information in estimating and management systems (dates, rates, authorization, part selections, invoices).
  • Control Repair Costs and Source Parts Strategically
    Apply cost-effective repair methods when safe, verify parts accuracy (model/trim), quote sublets, and align with gross profit targets.
  • Coordinate with Team and Sublet Vendors
    Schedule required sublets and calibrations, communicate key repair and claim updates internally, and support workflow efficiency.
  • Conduct Vehicle Assessments and Quality Reviews
    Determine drivable vs. non-drivable status, inspect repairs for quality, and ensure final delivery meets client and insurer standards.
  • Drive Sales and Estimate Conversion
    Maintain a closing ratio (batting average) of 80%+ on all estimates and follow up on unsold estimates.
  • Ensure Timely Billing and Documentation Submission
    Upload supplements, submit final bills for insurer approval within 48 hours post-delivery, and scan invoices into shop management systems. Justification documents applied to all files. Photo management required.
  • Contribute to Team Success and Shop Performance
    Stay accountable to daily goals, support gross profit achievement, manage workload efficiently, and escalate issues to management when needed.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable travelling to the shop location 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
  • This is a temporary position for 3 months with the potential to become permanent.

Education, Experience and other requirements:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Collision Estimator
  • High level of capability utilizing Mitchell Connect and Audatex software.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously delivering Organizational skills/Time Management proficiency.
  • Experience with: Body Shop Connect, Collision link, Parts bridge, Progi Parts, Carpartpro, APU, an asset
  • Tesla EPC, Repair Logic, Repair Stack, an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean abstract.
  • Proficiency in working with various Insurance “DRP” practices/guidelines.
  • I-CAR training would be an asset.
  • OEM Specific Training an asset.
