We are currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team at our head office in Nisku, AB. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position working Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Position Summary:
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for a dynamic workforce of up to 300 employees. This role requires a seasoned payroll professional who can assess current payroll systems and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation while supporting internal stakeholders with payroll-related needs.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for 50300 employees across multiple divisions
- Ensure accuracy of timesheets and deductions including taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, job changes, and wage adjustments
- Prepare ROEs, T4s, and respond to payroll audit requests
- Collaborate with HR and Operations to ensure data accuracy and seamless payroll administration
- Coordinate and process payroll remittances, source deductions, and year-end reporting
- Monitor and maintain payroll system integrity, recommending improvements where necessary
- Ensure compliance with CRA regulations and internal controls
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information at all times
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, preferably in a fast-paced or seasonal workforce environment
- Strong knowledge of provincial and federal payroll legislation, particularly in Alberta
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience using integrated payroll systems (Sage 100 is considered a plus)
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- PCP certification is an asset
