At Pier 4 our portfolio of multi-family real estate assets is growing and as a result we are looking for an HR Business Partner to join our team inour Cambridge office.We are looking for an HR Business Partner, who wants to be part of our exciting journey and is truly engaged in being an advocate of and executing, best-in-class human resources support and programs.


Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) is the primary HR liaison for our growing Pier 4 Property Operations team (Property Management). Working with the Director, Human Resources to develop and implement best in class HR practices and programs to drive performance, and engagement in support of achieving business goals and growth plans.

The successful candidate has outstanding people skills and is an ambassador of the Pier 4 culture anchored in the Pier 4 values: Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect.

Regular travel to Pier 4 Properties is required dependant on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the HR function in a relatable, professional and knowledgeable fashion highly influential and persuasive a team player.
  • Strong HR & business acumen, accountable - ownership of work through to full completion.
  • Champion HR initiatives and facilitate the respect and understanding of HR policies.
  • Manage the recruitment process for Pier 4 property operations roles, including job postings, interviews, job offers, references and background checks.
  • Find innovative ways to source candidates.
  • Manage the on-boarding process in support of positive new hire experiences, ensuring all aspects of on-boarding requirements/new hire data collection is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety regulatory requirements, processes and policies are adhered to and all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines and making sound decisions based on priorities and risks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Bamboo HR is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to Pier 4 properties and locations across Canada.
  • Special Projects as required based on business needs
    Education/Experience
  • 5+ years experience as an HRBP/Generalist/Recruitment with a background in a property management environment or related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field and/or HR certification.
  • Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPA) with CHRP or CHRL designation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of provincial/federal employment law, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
