Our client in Saskatoon is looking for a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to join their Finance team. In this role, you'll play a key part in analyzing product costs, supporting inventory control, and enhancing margin improvement initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with operations and procurement to ensure financial accuracy and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update product costing models, including BOM reviews and standard costs.
- Analyze production variances (yield, labor, waste) and support margin improvement.
- Generate and analyze margin reports and support pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with operations to identify and address cost drivers.
- Reconcile and value raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory monthly.
- Analyze inventory movements and variances, including rework and scrap.
- Monitor ingredient and packaging cost trends and report volatility.
- Track direct labor costs and productivity metrics.
- Analyze overtime and idle time, providing insights for labor optimization.
- Perform month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to product costs.
- Support audits and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Evaluate ROI and cost implications of capital investments.
- Track actual vs. forecasted project costs.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- CPA designation or currently pursuing CPA (preferred)
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or food production
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and full-cycle financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP/inventory system experience is an asset
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
