Our recruitment team is currently working with a global leader in the manufacturing sector in search of a Millwright or Sr. Mechanical Technicianinterested in servicing their clients around the world.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Parts & Service Manager, this Millwright will be a vital member supporting clients globally by overseeing and executing field installations, conducting thorough inspections, performing troubleshooting and repairs, and leading preventive maintenance efforts. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our clients operations, ensuring they receive top-tier service wherever they are located.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support to ensure swift resolution of issues and minimize client downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams to facilitate smooth project delivery and uphold customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough on-site evaluations, assessing equipment, systems, and processes to identify areas needing improvement or repairs.
  • Safely operate hoisting and lifting equipmentsuch as cranes, jacks, and tractorsduring machinery installations, set-ups, and repairs.
  • Install, align, disassemble, and relocate industrial machinery (e.g., pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators) according to detailed layout plans using both hand and power tools.
  • Prepare and submit field service reports and inspection checklists to the Service Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Accurately complete and submit timesheets and expense reports to the PSG Manager for review and approval.
  • Assist in estimating and planning site-specific work as needed to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Adhere strictly to the companys "Service Department Travel Guidelines" to ensure consistency and safety during travel.
  • Inspect and assess machinery to detect and diagnose irregularities, malfunctions, or signs of wear.
  • Adjust machinery, and repair or replace faulty components to restore optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and other essential upkeep on machinery.
  • Oversee or assist in the construction of machinery foundations, or guide other workers in these tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel 75% of the year
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel without restrictions is required.
  • Carry a class G or higher drivers license - Valid clear drivers abstract
  • Significant amount of time on-site, which may involve travel to client locations, manufacturing plants, or construction sites
  • Role requires flexibility for emergency breakdowns or late scheduling changes occur.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • In the absence of supervision, capable of guiding the work needed to achieve the set objectives.
  • Ability to understand and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Management Systems and Company policies.
  • Must have a team driven attitude, work ethic and always present themselves in a professional manner.
