Your mission:
As a Production Support Technologist, youll bring hands-on technical expertise to our manufacturing teammaintaining and improving equipment, test systems, and tooling that keep our operations running smoothly. Youll play a vital role in getting new products ready for production, partner with R&D on design-for-manufacture (DFM) efforts, and help drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and innovation across the floor.

In this role you will:
- Provide real-time technical support to production teams to resolve equipment, process, and test-related issues.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Assist in implementing new manufacturing processes and equipment for product introductions and process changes.
- Assemble and maintain functional and diagnostic test sets for electronic components and assemblies.
- Ensure test systems align with product specifications and manufacturing needs by collaborating closely with R&D Engineering teams during the design process.
- Maintain detailed documentation and perform periodic calibration and compliance checks on test systems.
- Design and fabricate assembly jigs, fixtures, and process aids to enhance efficiency, consistency, and ergonomics.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing staff to refine tools based on operator feedback and performance data.
- Ensure tooling meets safety, quality, and process engineering standards.
- Support manufacturing readiness for new product launches, including setup of tooling, test sets, and production documentation.
- Liaise with R&D engineering during product development to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness through effective DFM practices.
- Provide feedback during design reviews to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.
- Analyze production workflows and identify areas for improvement using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as root cause analysis, value stream mapping, and Kaizen projects.
- Assist in the documentation and standardization of work procedures, setup sheets, and maintenance logs.
- Support the Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS) by participating in corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), audits, and quality improvement projects.
- Track and record engineering changes, equipment updates, and modifications impacting production.
- Ensure all work adheres to applicable regulatory and safety standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC standards, WorksafeBC).

This role might be right for you if you have:
- Diploma or degree in Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or test system support roles.
- Strong understanding of electronic assembly, test equipment, and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, C++) is an asset.
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for jig and fixture design.
- Solid foundation in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with product lifecycle and DFM practices in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with production, quality, and design teams.
- Ability to travel periodically to alternate manufacturing site in Edmonton, Alberta to provide on-site support as needed.
