Reporting to Energy Management Systems (EMS) Manager you will be part of a team supporting energy solutions for large business and institutional customers including electric vehicle charging, battery storage, solar PV and power generation. Your work will help unlock the full potential of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, driving the transition to a clean energy economy.
As an Energy Management System Operator you will be responsible for supporting successful charging operations as fleets scale. This is a critical part of transition to electric fleet management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities:
Remote Operations Support - Monitor and support fleet-level EV charging and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) operations via software applications, phone, and email communication, including depot bus tracking, and real-time operational guidance.
System Monitoring - Track charging infrastructure performance, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations, and fleet dispatch decisions to identify first line troubleshooting interventions required to optimize operations and/or mitigate charging and energy management issues.
Issue Resolution - Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve charging and energy management problems through remote support and coordination with on-site teams, as well as client key personnel
Cross-Team Collaboration - Work with PowerON Operations, Maintenance, and Energy Management teams on asset monitoring, performance analysis, and operational reporting. Maintain communication with key personnel.
Documentation & Reporting - Maintain comprehensive operational logs, manage data systems, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders in clear, actionable formats
Process Optimization - Continuously improve internal procedures and workflows to enhance operational efficiency
Other duties as required
Work Environment:
24/7 rotating shift coverage shifts
QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years relevant experience such as operations monitoring, energy management, EV infrastructure operations, or distributed energy resources operation.
Knowledge of any of the following is an asset: operations, EV charging, behind-the-meter DERs (battery energy storage systems, solar, etc), charge management systems, energy management systems, aggregation platforms, demand response and load management.
Working experience with Microsoft Excel
Excellent people and communication skills, and/or history of direct client support in English
