Job Overview

We're looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our Finance team and support our growing U.S. operations. This newly created role will help manage the increasing volume of vendor invoices and financial documentation resulting from recent acquisitions. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for processing accounts payable transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting month-end close procedures. Your work will help ensure the smooth operation of our finance department during this exciting time of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately and on time.
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and appropriate approvals.
  • Prepare and process payments (EFTs, cheques, wires) in compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Finance team members on process improvements and system efficiencies.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting.
  • Previous experience with US process is a must.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced finance environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related fields is an asset.
