The Equipment & Repair Technician is responsible for prepping, repairing, diagnosing faults, servicing, and re-dressing EV's camera systems, multi-finger calipers and related field equipment. This role is primarily based in Red Deer but may require travel to other company sites and client field locations, sometimes in remote or challenging environments. The technician ensures all equipment is maintained according to preventative maintenance programs, performs repairs following company procedures, and manages asset tracking through the Asset Management System (AMS). Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate service records, participating in root cause analysis of equipment failures, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. The position involves frequent interaction with internal teams and occasional contact with clients and vendors. Physical demands include lifting up to 30 pounds, working extended hours, and operating in oilfield, hazardous, and remote environments. A commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous professional development is essential for success in this dynamic role.

Minimum Requirements

  • Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma
  • At least 2 years of experience with maintaining and repairing downhole camera systems
  • At least 2 years of experience with maintaining, repairing and calibrating multi-finger calipers.
  • Full proficiency with Warrior software
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Red Deer, Alberta, with flexibility to travel (up to 25%) at short notice

Preferred Job Skill Requirements

  • Strong technical skills in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing faults in downhole cameras, multi-finger calipers, ultrasonic tools and related equipment
  • Experience with preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of surface systems used for real-time and memory acquisition of wellbore data.
  • Expert knowledge with multi-finger calipers, including performing full maintenance, teardown, rebuild and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of creating and executing master calibration files
  • Proficient with SPACE and Optis Player software systems
  • Proficient in using asset management systems
  • Skilled in using hand tools, diagnostic devices, and precision gauges
  • Ability to perform quality control tests and read technical manuals and schematics
  • Comfortable using computers for reporting and communication
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Customer service-oriented with effective time management skills
  • Adaptable to new and emerging technologies
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Physically fit with good manual dexterity for handling small components and working in diverse field environments
