Maintenance TechnicianWe are currently seeking an on-call, contract-based maintenance technician for the Toronto area. Selected individuals will be contracted for specified dates provided in advance, with durations ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months. Ideal candidates should be based in the Toronto area and must have previous maintenance technician experience listed on their resume.Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily rounds and record readings for all equipment including but not limited to start-up and shutdown machinery as instructed, inspecting repairing and issues that may arise.
- Inspect, operate, and maintain mechanical/electrical systems such as boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, UPS, and life safety systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Perform preventive/demand maintenance tasks including filter changes, belt inspection/replacement, and greasing of bearings.
- Carry out repairs such as replacing faucets, clearing sinks/drains/sumps, and resetting breakers.
- Address general building repairs like minor paint touch-ups and mechanical room clean-up.
- Respond to tenant/client requests and emergencies and report unusual events/unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Supervise or assist contractors/external service providers as needed.
- Keep the work environment clean.
- Fulfill any other assigned duties.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance and operations.
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Mechanically inclined with hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools and well as
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired nut not mandatory.
- Demonstrated capabilities re : accountability, judgement, decision-making, problem solving, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required
- Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Shifts Available: Day ONLY
- Toronto - Downtown
- Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
- Status: Full-Time Only (No part-time positions available)
