Make a Real Difference, Every Early Morning, Night, and Weekend! Be an On-Call Angel with Earth Angels!

Are you a compassionate and quick-thinking individual looking for a truly impactful role where you can provide vital support during critical hours? At Earth Angels Home Care, we've been helping seniors and others in Nova Scotia thrive in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes for over 20 years. We're incredibly passionate about providing skilled, compassionate, ethical, and confidential care, and it's our wonderful Angels who make that possible, even after hours.

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate On-Call Support Specialists to join our new provincial team. If you're ready to be the reassuring voice, resolve urgent matters swiftly, and truly become an integral part of our continuous care delivery, we'd love to hear from you.

What It Means to Be an On-Call Earth Angel:

As an On-Call Support Specialist, you'll provide immediate, high-quality support for Earth Angels Home Care clients and caregivers outside of regular business hours. Your primary responsibility is to be a constant, reassuring presence over the phone, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being by addressing urgent issues and coordinating essential services during early mornings, nights, and weekends. You will be supporting our regional operations teams during their off-peak times.

Your essential role will include:

  • Urgent Client & Caregiver Support:
    • Serve as the first point of contact for urgent inquiries and issues from clients and caregivers during early mornings, nights, and weekends.
    • Provide on-call phone and email support to address immediate needs, concerns, or emergencies with empathy and efficiency.
    • Proactively address and resolve issues related to care plans, caregiver assignments, or client needs that arise outside of standard office hours.
  • Service Coordination & Adjustment (After-Hours):
    • Coordinate essential services for clients as needed, which may include helping with new client intake, as well as addressing immediate personal care needs, companionship, medication reminders, or transportation arrangements in urgent situations.
    • Facilitate adjustments to care plans or caregiver schedules in response to immediate changes in client health status or urgent requests, ensuring clear communication to relevant parties.
    • Work in conjunction with the centralized staffing team to assign appropriate staff for urgent, unforeseen needs.
  • Care Team Collaboration & Oversight (Off-Hours):
    • Follow up with caregivers after initial shifts or new-to-caregiver client shifts if issues arise during on-call hours, ensuring their support and successful integration.
    • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provincial regulations during urgent after-hours situations, maintaining our high standards of care.
  • Documentation & Communication:
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive logs of all after-hours client and caregiver communications and requests, ensuring thorough record-keeping.
    • Provide clear and timely communication of urgent issues and their resolution to the relevant regional office teams for seamless follow-up during regular business hours.
We're Looking for Someone Who:
  • Has excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and a truly compassionate approach.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  • Can work independently and effectively as part of a centralized team.
  • Is proficient in using communication and scheduling software (e.g., RingCentral, internal scheduling platforms).
  • Is flexible and reliable to work early morning, night, and weekend shifts as per the centralized schedule.

Ready to open your heart and become an integral part of our compassionate team, making a profound difference in the lives of clients and caregivers across Nova Scotia? Apply today and become an Earth Angel!

Please note that the duties and responsibilities outlined above may be subject to change based on the evolving needs of Earth Angels Home Care and its clients.
