SOUS CHEF

Browns Crafthouse Main Street is looking for a Sous Chef to join our team and oversee daily operations of our restaurant. This position offers long-term leadership development and career advancement within the fastest-growing full-service restaurant company in Canada (Browns Restaurant Group/BRG). We want to find that person who is passionate about food, training and developing people around them. This person will have kitchen management experience, be professional with their communication and attitude, yet foster a fun and collaborative work environment.
WHAT YOULL DO:
- Conscientiously learn, observe, and maintain Browns Socialhouse systems and operations.
- Hands-on experience of the highest operational standards.
- Manage food, kitchen labour, and other kitchen-related costs.
- Consistently execute food to our exact specifications and within our time standards.
- Oversee inventory and ordering, meeting budget targets, and conducting food cost analysis.
- Manage prep inventory ensuring proper receiving, storage, and rotation.
- Ensure high quality food production and presentation.
- Make certain that proper food safe practices are followed.
- Lead immaculately clean kitchen and food safety practices.
- Continually train, develop, and motivate quality kitchen staff.
- Champion and lead delivery of menu rollouts to kitchen team, including training of new menu items and product updates.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- 1 year experience in a kitchen leader or management position.
- 3-5 years cooking experience.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude and fosters a fun and collaborative environment.
- Adapts quickly to changing work environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours.
- Kitchen systems focus in a corporate environment.
- Possess a passion for quality food and an eye for detail.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid WHMIS, First Aid, Food Safe level 1 and 2 (will provide training).
