Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Assistant to support our Inventory Coordinator in managing the day-to-day operations of the stores room in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will assist with inventory accuracy, material handling, and timely fulfillment of production needs, including kitting and stock movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials and supplies; verify items against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Accurately label, store, and organize inventory following established procedures.
  • Fulfill production kitting lists by picking and staging materials as per job requirements.
  • Support and perform routine cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels and resolve discrepancies.
  • Update and maintain inventory records in the company's MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system.
  • Assist with stock adjustments, transfers, and reconciliations as directed by the Inventory Coordinator.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or overstock conditions proactively.
  • Help ensure the stores room is clean, well-organized, and compliant with safety and operational standards.
  • Safely lift and move inventory items, including boxes or components up to 50 lbs.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and other internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Assist Shipping/Receiving when required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, or stores roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Ability to follow and complete kitting lists with precision and accuracy.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software, barcode scanners, etc.).
  • Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
