About the Role

We are seeking a well-rounded and motivated individual to join our team as a Technical Writer and Training Developer focused on mine hoist systems. This role involves developing and delivering high-quality training materials for technical systems, with a strong emphasis on technical writing, editing, and formatting. While detailed engineering knowledge is not required, a solid mechanical and/or electrical aptitude is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys translating complex technical concepts into clear, engaging training content and has a passion for supporting learning and development in industrial environments.

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee and leads projects, ensuring project delivery meets scopes, schedules, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Edit and finalize reports authored by the technical staff.
  • Maintain all technical document templates.
  • Ensure all documents utilize the correct templates, and all reports adhere to BESTECHs technical writing style guidelines.
  • Develop, format, and edit technical documents and training materials for mine hoist systems.
  • Deliver training sessions to internal teams and external clients.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate technical content.
  • Monitor project progress and support project managers in addressing challenges.
  • Utilize tools for weekly resource planning and contribute to long-term training plans.
  • Travel up to 25% within Canada and the USA to deliver on-site training.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical training and education.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Excellent technical writing, editing, and formatting skills is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and English communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
  • Ability to deliver engaging training sessions to diverse audiences.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within North America is required.
  • Communication skills in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to on-site industrial or mining environments is preferred.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mine hoisting systems or mining operations (an asset, not required).
  • Experience in training development and delivery in technical or industrial settings is preferred.

Term: Full-Time, Permanent
(40 hours/week)
