About the Role
The Practice Lead, Therapy is a key role that supports the development and integration of therapeutic services across CASA programs. This role provides mentorship to clinical supervisors and oversight of therapist practice, ensuring alignment with professional standards and regulatory requirements. The Practice Lead also supports provisional psychologists in meeting the supervision requirements for CAP registration.
The Practice Lead, Therapy will:
  • Support the delivery of high-quality clinical services by providing competency assessment, coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision to members of the assigned clinical discipline.
  • Ensure a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors for the patients and their family.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance management and off-boarding of employees under the assigned clinical discipline.
  • Inform and train staff on CASA policy and practice regarding admission, discharge, data collection and clinical documentation related to the assigned clinical discipline.
  • Develop and maintain a competency framework for the assigned team including:
    • Identifying core skills.
    • Developing and updating clinical program descriptions, clinical policies and relevant procedures based on evidence, standards of care and relevant legislation and acts.
  • Carry out case management functions including convening case conferences and liaising with community services and other professionals involved with the child and family (especially education, social services, justice and health).
  • Consult on intake/triage and transition services.
  • Support equipment, clinical tools, testing material and other clinical supply sourcing and procurement as required for the assigned program.
  • Provide leadership by identifying patient safety issues and initiating corrective action in consultation with staff.
  • Identify service delivery improvements and suggest enhancements with the lens of evidence informed practice and CASA's strategic and operational plans.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in psychology or social work (psycho-social intervention designation is required).
  • Must be a member in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
  • A minimum of five years clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
  • A minimum of one year of experience supervising therapists.
  • Knowledge and experience in therapeutic modalities used to treat childhood mental illness including CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EFT, DBT and/or Play Therapy.
  • Specialized training and/or experience in leadership, management or advanced clinical practice within the health discipline is necessary.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in specific clinical areas relevant to the area, such as child and adolescent mental health, complex cases or innovative therapeutic techniques, is advantageous.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to vehicle for travel between CASA locations as required.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
