About Class 1 Truck Driver position:The team of Class 1 Drivers plays a vital role in upholding Frozen Solid's commitment to high-quality, reliable, and on-time deliveries and superior customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations. The responsibilities involve operating Class 1 vehicles, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations, and ensuring the timely and secure delivery of cargo. A strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and reliability is also paramount in this position.
Position Key Info:
  • Location: Calgary or Lethbridge.
  • Number of runs: 2 runs per week.
  • Start time: 5pm to 10 pm.
  • Overtime over 60 hours per week.
  • Offering: $0.65 per mile, and Safety Bonus.
  • Also offering: Two-Week Vacation, and Group Health Benefits.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • A valid Class 1 driver's license.
  • Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as food or dry products.
  • Familiarity with using navigation systems.
  • Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving.
  • Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of mountain driving experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clean driving record.
  • No DUI conviction in the past 7 years.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communicating with dispatchers, drivers, and other team members to make deliveries.
  • Meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Performing basic truck maintenance.
  • Tracking shipments and deliveries.
  • Obtaining client or customer signatures when needed.
  • Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers.
  • Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
  • Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
  • Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
  • Other related duties as requested.
