Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Operations Specialist to join our Technology team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Engineering Operations to manage Curinos' tactical day-to-day engineering operations and how they tie into our Tech-wide strategic objectives. This includes designing and implementing process improvements, supporting data-driven decision-making, budgeting and forecasting, and facilitating communication between the Technology team and other business units. This is a highly visible cross-team and cross-functional role focused on alignment and consistency across the Technology organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Technology team through communication and coordination with other business units, such as Product, HR, IT and Finance, to ensure alignment and optimize engineering operations
  • Support Engineering Leadership in budget analysis, re-balancing, forecasting and other financial projects
  • Deliver and oversee engineering-wide tools, processes, performance metrics and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making
  • Assist with resource management across teams to optimize performance and feed into forecasting and operational decisions
  • Assist with the facilitation of rotating contractors on development teams, tracking their onboarding, renewal, budget approvals, and training
  • Build and maintain process documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across teams
  • Identify opportunities for automation and technology solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads
  • Contribute to the general evolution and improvement of all related internal processes
Qualifications

You're passionate and curious about Technology and how Technology teams work within a business. You are self-motivated and have high standards for your work. You stay on schedule and can handle juggling several different priorities, driving each forward independently. You are fluent in budget mathematics and have a good grasp of future high-level goals and can keep them in mind when determining what to do next. You are well organized and naturally rely on metrics and KPIs to assess performance and progress. You have contagiously positive energy, even when dealing with uncertainty. You are comfortable presenting to or preparing documents to a wide audience, including Senior Leadership. You value aesthetics and ensure ease of interpretation in how you prepare and communicate information. It is exceptionally important to you that things be done correctly. You value efficiency, take pride in your work and tackle problems proactively.

Desired Skills & Expertise

  • 0-3 years experience (new grads welcome!) with a background in operations management, finance, mathematics, information systems management or a related field with a combination of academic and workplace experience in that field
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing clear and concise documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into insights and actionable recommendations
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • Demonstrable experience with and interest in financial analysis and building financial models to support data-driven decision making
  • Experience or keen interest in working with cross-functional teams
  • A keen eye for presentations and creative visualizations
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working understanding of work management software tools (e.g. Jira) and designing process workflows
  • Experience working in or closely with a technology team focused on software development and product delivery is an asset
  • SQL, python, and/or general Databricks
