Job Description:
We are looking for an Applications Engineering Technician to join our growing team and support our fast-paced, high-volume, made-to-order Sprocket Manufacturer in the beautiful South Slocan, BC. Key Responsibilities:
- Create precise technical drawings for mechanical assemblies and components, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to verify the feasibility and manufacturability of designs.
- Accurately process quotations, order paperwork, and coordinate the procurement of materials, ensuring that customer needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work closely with the sales team to clearly communicate and document technical specifications, pricing, and terms, ensuring customers fully understand the details of their orders.
- Foster long-term relationships with customers by consistently delivering excellent service from enquiry to post-sales support and offering tailored solutions that meet their evolving needs.
- Collaborate closely with production, design, sales, quality, logistics, and finance teams to ensure alignment across all departments, facilitating the smooth execution of work and meeting customer requirements efficiently.
- Work cross-functionally to address any challenges that may arise during the design, manufacturing, or customer service stages, fostering strong communication to ensure seamless workflow and exceptional client satisfaction.
- Oversee the onboarding and support of new customer accounts and major clients, ensuring smooth transitions and successful partnerships.
- Provide technical assistance for both internal and external sales resources to drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities with both new and existing customers.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- 2+ years in mechanical design, procurement, and/or customer service. Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ERP software.
- Strong aptitude for mechanical design, with experience interpreting technical drawings and customer specifications.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and offer practical solutions, leveraging effective professional communication skills to engage customers and internal teams.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial components such as bearings, gears, sheaves, or other power transmission and material conveyance products.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of business principles, with experience in business-to-business interactions across diverse customer and end-user segments.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
