Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of customer service by circulating the gaming floor and assisting guests.
  • Responsible for slot hand-pay disbursements.
  • Complete slot machine paper fills.
  • Complete bill exchanges.
  • Makes minor mechanical repairs to slot machines.
  • Provide instruction for slot play when / if requested.
  • Assist clients with general inquiries and directions.
  • Provide preventative maintenance to slots machines.
  • Monitor slot machine activity for adherence to approved rules of play.
  • Slot Attendants work under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and comply with all applicable laws, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management of any observation of illegal activity or internal ethics violations, such as intoxication, and/or cheating.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma
  • One or more years of experience in customer service and handling cash (preferably large volumes)
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a high-volume, fast paced, shift work environment.
  • The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
  • Age 19 years or older

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The working conditions are those typically found in an indoor, climate controlled office environment. Will be exposed to casino related factors including but not limited to excessive noise, large crowds and stress related to servicing guests in a high pressure and fast paced environment. Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino and/or Hotel areas.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
