JOB TITLE: Sr. Engineer / Sr. Construction Project Manager
LOCATION: C ambridge, Ontario
DURATION: 12-18 months
RATE RANGE: $90-$100/hr
POSITION SUMMARY:

This will be a unique opportunity to join a team of technical subject matter experts delivering 54MW in the AI driven mission critical space, including complex power configurations and new industry technology involving liquid to chip cooling solutions. This deployment will be one of the first major AI deliveries and one of the largest consumers of power in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects from inception to completion on multiple large-scale projects
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables in support of the business objectives
  • Develop full scale project plans and associated communication documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and senior management in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Assess needs for additional resources or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment as required during the project life-cycle
  • Secure proposals and quotes that meet client standards for budgetary purposes
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved third parties throughout the project life-cycle
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. Technical expertise relating to data centres, hospitals, laboratories or other mission critical facilities is required.
  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or other related discipline) or degree in Construction Management required
  • Construction and technical project management skills required, including: design review, implementation, and project management, contractual language and vendor coordination are necessary.
  • Technical training and experience in the mission critical industry and / or education focused on Engineering discipline.
  • Ability to review, understand and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings to a level that allows the development of production and engineering documents.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Work Place Health and Safety Regulations
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills. Strong analytical and decision-making skills and advanced troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. Ability to maintain performance level under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty, and effectively dealing with situations for which few or no guidelines exist.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Present themselves well to customers with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, applying appropriate grammar; listen attentively before proposing solutions; present ideas in a logical, compelling manner in both small and large group settings; communicate technical information to a non-technical audience; and integrate large volumes of information from multiple sources.
  • Self-starter with a strong desire for achievement and ambition who can demonstrate the ability to lead a team while being an excellent team player. Must be able to relate to our client s company culture.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
