In addition to managing core accounting functions, this role will act as a key business partner, working closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic business partner, collaborating with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to drive financial and operational efficiency.
- Lead cost accounting functions, including product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation to optimize profitability.
- Oversee financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
- Evaluate, scope, and assist in implementing a new financial/ERP system, ensuring seamless integration with accounting processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support business strategy.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA) preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong cost accounting experience, including inventory management, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Hands-on experience in scoping, evaluating, and implementing new financial or ERP software.
- Proficiency in GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics) and implementation projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Industry experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar cost-driven environments is a plus.
