About the Opportunity:

We're looking for a detail-oriented Part Marking Technician to join our CNC machine shop in Ontario. In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately identifying and marking machined parts using electro-etch, dot-peen, and vibrapeen methods according to customer and industry standards. The role also includes part washing duties to ensure components are clean and properly prepared for marking, inspection, or shipment. This is an Onsite position.

Responsibilities:

Apply part identification using electro-etch, dot-peen, and vibrapeen marking processes as per customer specifications and internal procedures

  • Scan and apply 2D part markings (such as Data Matrix codes) according to customer and industry specifications, ensuring proper placement, readability, and traceability.
  • Verify marking data (part numbers, serial numbers, lot numbers, etc.) against job travelers, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Ensure marking is legible, properly located, and meets industry and customer standards (e.g., MIL-STD, aerospace specs).
  • Operate and maintain part marking equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.
  • Prepare surfaces and fixturing to ensure clean, durable marks.
  • Maintain accurate records of marked parts, traceability logs, and inspection data.
  • Work with the quality team to ensure compliance with quality standards and non-conformance procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in part marking processes.
  • Perform part washing using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment to ensure all components are free of oils, debris, and contaminants prior to marking, inspection, or shipment.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

  • An understanding of aerospace specifications and quality requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process instructions
  • Basic computer skills for logging data and reviewing documentation.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Excellent visual acuity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with electro-etch, dot-peen, and/or vibrapeen marking methods.
  • Comfortable working with marking equipment and basic hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Aerospace and/or manufacturing experience.

  • Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process optimization tools to drive efficiency and readiness.
  • WHMIS or other workplace safety training certifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring you to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Material handling equipment experience.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for process or efficiency improvements.
  • Knowledge of part traceability standards (e.g., serial numbers, lot codes).
  • Familiarity with quality systems like ISO 9001 or AS9100.

Physical Requirements:

Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small parts.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, light oil exposure, and frequent use of gloves or safety glasses.
