Job Opportunity: Project Coordinator Wildfire Management

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The candidate will work closely with Project Team Leads to ensure budgets, staff resources, and timelines are aligned across and within teams and with other Business Units. The candidate will be primarily involved with wildfire management projects ranging in size and complexity and will report directly to the Forsite Fire Business Unit Manager. Multiple fuel management projects can be on-going at any one time and typically include 3-6+ team members and a timeline of 4 to 32 weeks to multi year. A critical task will be to support the sales team in understanding resource availability and plausible timing to complete new projects. In addition to helping to coordinate wildfire projects, the candidate may be asked to perform similar tasks for other business units in Forsite covering forest planning & analysis, and GIS projects.
WHAT YOULL NEED
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or 5 - 8 years relevant project management experience.
- Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) is preferred.
- An understanding of developing standard operating procedures would be an asset
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills are essential.
- Wildfire, forest industry or utility industry experience would be an asset.
- Experience working in private sector consulting roles would be preferred
- Experience with project management software (Zoho) would be an asset.
- Experience with grant applications, report writing and editing.
- Experience creating and managing budgets.
