Currently Fotenn is seeking applications for:

Junior Planner

Full Time, Permanent

Kingston, Ontario

As a Junior Planner with Fotenn, you will assist with a variety of projects in all areas of development and policy planning, including development applications, Official Plan and Zoning By-law review, site planning and design, master planning, visioning, streetscape design, sustainable community design, urban design analysis, preparation of design documents, research and report writing. As key contributing members of the Fotenn team, our Planners work closely with members of the team at all levels to allow for professional growth and successful outcomes from the work performed.

Qualifications include:

Undergraduate and/or Masters level university degree in urban planning (preferably an accredited program)

Experience in the field of urban planning is an asset;

Practical understanding of municipal land use planning systems and policies;

Good knowledge of land development practices;

Initiative, independence, and strong problem-solving skills;

Strong technical writing skills, including planning rationales, policy documents, etc.;

Comfortable and confident liaising with clients, municipal departments, and review agencies;

Ability to coordinate a range of complicated development applications within medium to large municipalities

Excellent English written and oral communication and presentation skills;

French language proficiency and membership in, or on the path to obtain, CIP/OPPI certification would be considered a strong asset

Proficiency with Microsoft Office
