Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Systems Draftsperson to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and updating drawings for electrical control panels, automation systems, and related components. The ideal candidate has experience with industrial automation and control systems, including loop drawings, PLC power distribution, and network architectures. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for electrical control panels and automation systems.
• Create and maintain loop drawings, wiring schematics, PLC layouts, and network architecture diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Review and update existing drawings to reflect design changes or updates to equipment.
• Assist with generating bills of materials (BOMs) and ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation to facilitate project handover and future maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools).
• Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and OT communications design.
• Experience with control panel layouts, electrical schematics, and loop drawings.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., CEC Part 1 & 2, UL 508A, IEC standards).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Certificate or diploma in drafting, electrical technology, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of power distribution systems for PLCs and industrial automation equipment.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience working on projects in industries such as oil and gas, manufacturing, or water/wastewater.
