How You Will Make an Impact

• To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission and Values of Good Shepherd Centres.
• Prepare daily meals for the Brothers of Good Shepherd
• Cooking a variety of dishes and prepare meals
• Manage ingredients and food inventory
• Perform kitchen duties, including setting up before meal preparation and cleaning cooking surfaces and utensils after meals.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen,
• Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
• Responsible for the maintenance of a tidy, clean and safe work area at all times.
• Other duties as related to the role.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

• Completion of high school.
• Should have a valid Food Handlers Certification or be willing to obtain one upon hire.
• Several years of cooking experience, with a demonstrated ability to cook a wide variety of dishes, preferably in non-profit.
• Knowledge of different cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to cleanliness and maintaining health and safety standards.
