Join us as a Part-Time Cook for the Brothers of Good Shepherd, where you'll be responsible for preparing regular, nourishing meals for our community. How You Will Make an Impact
- To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission and Values of Good Shepherd Centres.
- Prepare daily meals for the Brothers of Good Shepherd
- Cooking a variety of dishes and prepare meals
- Manage ingredients and food inventory
- Perform kitchen duties, including setting up before meal preparation and cleaning cooking surfaces and utensils after meals.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen,
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
- Responsible for the maintenance of a tidy, clean and safe work area at all times.
- Other duties as related to the role.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
- Completion of high school.
- Should have a valid Food Handlers Certification or be willing to obtain one upon hire.
- Several years of cooking experience, with a demonstrated ability to cook a wide variety of dishes, preferably in non-profit.
- Knowledge of different cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to cleanliness and maintaining health and safety standards.
