About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Design Project Lead with expertise in telecommunications infrastructure design. At Encepta, we specialize in outside plant telecommunications design, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our Poles Design team while developing both technical and leadership capabilities.
As a Design Project Lead, you'll be responsible for overseeing quality assurance, tracking project progress, and managing the preparation and delivery of all Aerial projects. You'll work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders while ensuring our pole design program maintains the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Manage day-to-day coordination, organization, and alterations of project-related activities, technologies, and documentation. Take charge of leading initiatives, actively monitoring progress, and promptly addressing any challenges or issues that arise to ensure smooth operations and successful outcomes.
- Documentation & Communication: Run daily huddles with designers, analyst, fielders and other project leads to check progress and ensure work is on track, assign work; lead project meetings, provide scope updates, communicate with different clients, and ensure adherence to service level agreements. Flexible attitude while upholding standards.
- Continuous Learning & Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and self-study to enhance technical skills. Stay updated on industry specifications, standards, and new processes. Contribute to research and development projects, including testing activities.
- Training: Offer training to new and existing employees, create training materials, and conduct training.
Requirements
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in project leading related to civil, aerial, utility, or telecommunications projects. Familiarity with Aerial Telecommunication Infrastructure within BC, AB.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, including the ability to create, manage, and analyze data using formulas, charts, and other advanced features to support efficient and accurate reporting. Experience with relevant software such as SPIDAcalc, PLS-CADD, QuickPole, IKE Office, Spatialnet & GIS tools.
- Telecom Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding and application of industry specifications and standards. Knowledge of various design practices in telecommunications, familiarity with telecom design terminology and acronyms, and preferably knowledge of TELUS systems and processes such as TOPPs, Jira, and MyWorld.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and arrive at effective solutions. Ability to be resourceful and research existing and new approaches to completing work.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple, ongoing project tasks efficiently, especially on time-sensitive projects with changing deliverables and priorities.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with team members and external stakeholders. Courteous and approachable customer service approach.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with Project management tools like Click up, Trello, Notion, and communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoon, Google Workspace
