The Team
The Case Management Team is a well-established and collaborative group dedicated to advancing access to justice through the Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT). Made up of experienced Case Managers, Senior Case Managers, and other Managers, the team works together to support British Columbians in resolving disputes fairly, efficiently, and respectfully. The Role
As a Case Manager, you will help people navigate through the CRT process by providing information, identifying issues, facilitating settlement discussions, and helping parties explore resolution options. Drawing on your communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills, you will support individuals through complex and sometimes sensitive situations, helping them make informed decisions and work toward meaningful outcomes. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree or diploma related to law and/or dispute resolution, public or business administration.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience acting as a mediator in formal mediations, including drafting settlement agreements or related documents. Experience facilitating disputes or settlement discussions or acting in the capacity of an advocate in mediations or settlement discussions may be considered equivalent. Candidates will be asked to provide full details of their experience and estimate the number of mediations, facilitations or settlement discussions in which they have been involved, including the role they have played. A full year’s experience is expected to include a minimum of 15 mediations, facilitations or representation of parties in mediations.
- Minimum 1 year of professional or volunteer experience in each of the following:
- Experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, regulations, and policies.
- Experience conveying information in plain language, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience providing competent, timely, respectful, quality service to the public in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing a high-volume case load and individual case files in a customer service environment.
- Experience working respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds, to listen and understand, and effectively manage angry, frightened, or distraught behaviour.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Mediation or negotiation training.
- Experience interpreting and applying the Strata Property Act, laws related to small claims civil disputes (debt, goods and services, personal injury, personal property, and specific performance of agreements) and/or ICBC disputes.
- Experience supporting victims of sexualized violence.
- Applicants who self-identify as having indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
There are two (2) positions available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
