Overview of role:

The Loyalty Marketing Advisor is responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives that help build meaningful connections between WestJet Rewards and its members. Reporting to the Manager, Loyalty Marketing, this role leads the planning and delivery of member engagement initiatives designed to educate, inspire, recognize, and connect members throughout their journey with the program.

Working closely with Loyalty stakeholders, Marketing teams, and agency partners, the Advisor is responsible for developing and bringing to life the program's experiential marketing strategy. This includes identifying, planning, and executing member experiences ranging from acts of appreciation and recognition programs to larger-scale activations and events that strengthen member affinity, reinforce the value of membership, and create meaningful connections with the brand.

The Advisor is also responsible for developing content and communications strategies that support member engagement and loyalty marketing objectives. This includes identifying opportunities to educate, inspire, and engage members through coordinated marketing initiatives across email, web, social, and other member-facing channels. Through content planning, storytelling, and integrated campaign execution, the role helps increase awareness and understanding of the program, strengthen member affinity, and create ongoing engagement beyond transactional interactions.

Key deliverables include:

  • Develop content and communications plans that educate, inspire, and engage members while bringing the WestJet Rewards program to life across email, social, web, and other member-facing channels.
  • Develop and execute member engagement initiatives and experiential marketing programs ranging from acts of appreciation and recognition programs to larger-scale member events and activations.
  • Identify opportunities and customer insights that inform future member engagement initiatives, communications, and campaign enhancements.
  • Build clear, insight-driven go-to-market plans—including audience, channel mix, message strategy, and timing in collaboration with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Prepare and deliver agency briefings with objectives, key messages, creative direction, and required assets; provide ongoing guidance on concept, copy, visual execution and plans.
  • Set campaign objectives and metrics of success. Ensure key messages and tactics align to both.
  • Manage campaign financials including estimate development, monthly forecasting, PO creation, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute integrated campaigns and initiatives, managing timelines, budgets, task coordination, and stakeholder alignment, while monitoring performance and providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Maintain consistency of WestJet Rewards visual identity, tone, and messaging across all communications and channels.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising, loyalty, or related fields.
  • Experience planning and executing integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Experience developing content, member engagement, experiential marketing, loyalty marketing, or customer experience initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating stakeholders, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to use campaign performance data and customer insights to inform recommendations and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of current marketing channels and media landscape, including digital, social, email, and traditional marketing channels.
  • Experience managing agencies, external partners, and vendors.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with a high degree of initiative and accountability.
  • Experience in loyalty marketing, travel, hospitality, financial services, or aviation industries is considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
