JOB SUMMARY
As a Winter Mountain Crew helper, you are responsible for assisting the Mountain Crew/Attractions team and all departments with daily operations and special events and are expected to deliver a safe and exceptional experience for all mountain guests. Under direct supervision from the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Manager, the Winter Mountain Crew helper will assist with all winter attractions areas including; the Ice Rink, Fire Pit, Sliding Zone, Sleigh Ride, Light Walk and other seasonal attractions. Will also assist other departments with manual tasks, clean up and tear-down, transport, fences, snow removal and on occasion are expected to assist with line control and other guest related duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assisting in all attractions areas and other departments with manual tasks
- Hand shoveling ice surface, boardwalk, firepit and surrounding areas
- Maintaining attraction areas with shoveling, ice picking, re-sets of fencing and signage
- Assisting to set up and tear down of all attraction areas and events
- Reporting any unsafe acts, concerns or procedures to Operations Manager or Supervisor
- Assisting guests and ensuring the highest level of customer service
- Assisting the skate and snowshoe rental department
- Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position reports directly to the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Manager, with no direct supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Previous experience in landscaping an asset
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others
WORKING CONDITIONS
Winter Mountain Crew Helper perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$19.28/hour to $22.55/hour
