Position Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, servicing, and maintaining guest rooms and assigned areas to The Sutton Place Hotels for luxury standards. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring rooms are clean, comfortable, and guest-ready. The successful candidate demonstrates attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing outstanding hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Room Cleaning & Presentation
Clean and service guest rooms according to Sutton standards.
Make beds and replenish linens, towels, and guest amenities.
Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize guest rooms and bathrooms.
Ensure rooms are clean, well-presented, and guest-ready within established timeframes.
Conduct final inspections of assigned rooms and report deficiencies.
Guest Service & Teamwork
Respond professionally and courteously to guest requests.
Support VIP arrivals and special room requests.
Collaborate with Porters, Housepersons, Supervisors, and other departments to support room readiness and guest satisfaction.
Attend training sessions and departmental meetings as required.
Quality, Safety & Operations
Follow all housekeeping procedures, cleanliness standards, and safety protocols.
Report maintenance issues, damages, and safety concerns promptly.
Maintain and restock housekeeping carts, supplies, and storage areas.
Accurately record room status updates and report lost and found items.
Use cleaning products and equipment safely and responsibly.
Complete additional duties and special projects assigned.
Qualifications
Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is an asset; however, no experience is required as full training will be provided.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance with a positive, guest-focused attitude.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull housekeeping equipment and supplies throughout the shift.

Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with WHMIS and company safety standards.
