Overview of Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate QA Analyst / Test Analyst to join the IT Crew Operations team. As a Test Analyst on this team, you will participate in requirements analysis, test case development, test execution, defect management, and other Software Testing Lifecycle activities. You will work closely with developers, business stakeholders, and senior QA team members to ensure high-quality software delivery that meets business and technical requirements.

This role will contribute to both project and production support initiatives, assisting in the validation of application enhancements, integrations, and system changes. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a collaborative approach to working with both technical and business teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual testing activities across various applications, interfaces, and business processes
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities
  • Review business and technical requirements to understand testing scope and objectives
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test scripts based on documented requirements
  • Utilize application interfaces, APIs, and databases to validate data and system functionality
  • Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, working closely with development teams
  • Participate in defect triage sessions and assist in troubleshooting issues
  • Validate software fixes and verify successful defect resolution
  • Support regression testing efforts to ensure solution stability across releases
  • Assist in maintaining test documentation and test evidence
  • Collaborate with business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives
  • Analyze test results and communicate findings, risks, and quality concerns to project stakeholders
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for improving testing processes and overall quality practices
  • Support test automation initiatives by identifying suitable automation candidates and collaborating with automation team members
  • Learn and adopt new testing tools, technologies, and best practices as directed by senior team members

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a QA Analyst, Test Analyst, or similar software testing role
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working within Agile development teams and methodologies
  • Experience creating and executing manual test cases and test scenarios
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as Azure DevOps Test Plans or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC) concepts
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using defect management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Desire to continuously learn and develop testing and technical skills
  • Understanding of airline operations, crew systems, or transportation industry applications is considered an asset
