Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, the Territory Manager, Inside Sales is responsible for driving growth and execution across a hybrid territory that includes both field sales and internal account management. This permanent role is based on Vancouver Island, with primary responsibilities across Victoria and Duncan, BC. The successful candidate will represent the Lindt, Ghirardelli, and Russell Stover brands to retail banners and distributors, promoting growth and flawless execution of Sales and Marketing plans.

Key Responsibilities

Field-Based Territory Management (80%)

  • Identify and build sales opportunities through strong relationship management and understanding of customer needs
  • Manage the execution of Sales and Marketing plans within the territory using all available tools and support groups
  • Respond to and manage customer service issues during regular coverage
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on territory issues to maximize effectiveness and efficiency
  • Maintain the customer database and ensure files are regularly updated
  • Negotiate or review, within company policy, key account and head office elements including:
  • Retail support programs
  • Display and deal allowances
  • Planogram and off-shelf positioning
  • New listings
  • Retail pricing adherence
  • Interpret store-level and point-of-sale data to identify growth opportunities
  • Manage market hygiene, pricing, and shelf and display positioning
  • Provide communication and feedback to merchandisers to maximize merchandising effectiveness
  • Manage claims related to invoices and promotional agreements
  • Build strong store relationships to champion store-level account execution and confirm program compliance

Inside Sales Management (20%)

  • Manage inside sales responsibilities for selected banners and regional accounts (e.g., Coldstar Distributors and Island Independent Buying Group)
  • Support execution of corporate promotions and inside sales bookings
  • Use fact-based selling and analytics to identify opportunities and resolve stock or execution issues
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Finance, Demand Planning, and other teams to resolve order issues and manage promotional spend
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations tailored to distributor and banner needs
  • Report regularly on customer needs, competitive activity, sales performance, and promotional trends

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in territory management, inside sales, or a similar role in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with retail data interpretation.
  • Experience interpreting Nielsen data is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • A self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is a must-have; experience with CRM tools is an asset.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth and execution excellence.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for regular travel within the territory.

Rewards Package

The standard hiring range for this role is $55,000 - $68,000 CAD per annum with a 15% performance-based bonus. The final agreement upon salary may vary based on market location and factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
