Nature & Scope → Your Role at Roots

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Paid Media Graphic Designer with strong conceptual skills—a creative thinker who excels in motion design and multimedia digital platforms. You should have a solid understanding of Paid Digital, Social Media platforms, and Affiliate Marketing channels, stay up to date with the latest digital trends, and recognize the importance of both paid and organic campaigns.

Key Responsibilities → How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Creative Conceptualization – Work closely with the eCommerce and Marketing teams to understand campaign objectives, target audiences, and messaging requirements.
  • Visual Asset Creation – Collaborate with the Art Directors, Copywriters, and Content Managers to design and produce high-performing, visually appealing platform-specific graphics and multimedia content, including GIFs, static images, animations, and videos.
  • Motion Graphics & Video – Support the production of short-form video content, including editing, animation, and post-production enhancements, bringing dynamic motion graphics and storytelling to life.
  • Branding & Visual Identity – Contribute to multimedia digital content , ensuring alignment with brand identity and design guidelines while focusing on user experience and engagement.
  • Channel & Digital Media Best Practices – Deliver creative assets that adhere to best practices for Paid Digital, Social Media, and Affiliate channels, optimizing performance to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Presentation & Collaboration – Present creative concepts to the Marketing & Paid Digital team, participate in brainstorming sessions, share fresh design perspectives, and storyboard creative concepts for internal presentations.
  • File Preparation & Asset Management – Prepare final files and maintain an asset tracker to ensure seamless media trafficking across various formats.
  • Design Asset Library – Develop and maintain a library of reusable design assets and templates to streamline content creation processes for Paid Digital and Affiliate channels.

Qualifications & Experience → The Skills You Bring

Experience & Portfolio

  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design, typography, and multimedia content creation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing multimedia design work, including GIFs, motion graphics, and video content.
  • Demo Reel featuring a diverse range of high-quality animations and video projects.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with other design tools like Figma, Canva, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Solid understanding of post-production processes, compression techniques, video formats, and technical requirements for various platforms.

Digital & Paid Media Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Paid & Organic content, Social Media, Digital Out-of-Home (OOH), Affiliate Marketing, and emerging digital tactics.
  • Knowledge of digital design processes and best practices, including ad optimization.

Innovation & AI Integration

  • Experience leveraging emerging AI trends and best practices in design and media to optimize creative output is an asset.
  • Passion for staying up to date with new technologies, animation techniques, and AI tools to keep work innovative and impactful.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders and work within a matrix management structure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across internal teams and external partners.

Problem-Solving & Adaptability

  • Advanced ability to quickly react and adapt to business needs, including time-sensitive requests.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective, visually aligned creative assets that follow Roots’ brand guidelines.

Project & Time Management

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a “get things done” mindset.
