Our company, through focused customer service, has become a leader in the supply and distribution of new and re-conditioned aircraft parts. *JOB DESCRIPTION:* * You will serve as a Engineering Designer responsible for creating, reviewing, and validating the designs of reverse-engineered aircraft parts and assemblies.
* You will act as a technical resource in the preparation of detailed substantiation reports to support certification activities related to the reverse engineering of aircraft parts and assemblies. *RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:* * Complete solid model designs and 2D engineering drawings.
* Prepare detailed technical substantiation reports to be submitted to TC authorities. Reports will document the validity of fit, form, and function of designed parts with the purpose of satisfying Transport Canada certification requirements.
* Carry out technical investigations and engineering support activities as required to support design validations.
* Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers responsible for the preparation of solid models and engineering drawings.
* Interface with and manage external vendors and suppliers regarding support of engineering design. *SKILLS REQUIRED:* * Advanced experience with SolidWorks for design and modeling.
* Proficient in 2D drawing layout, formatting, and standard drafting practices (ASME Y14.5)
* Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
* Familiarity with aerospace materials, coatings, processes, hardware, and industry standards.
* Experience with precision measuring tools and techniques.
* Practical mechanical aptitude and understanding of aircraft systems and structural components.
* Experience with Bombardier DHC-8 or similar aircraft is considered an asset.
* Understanding of Transport Canada CAR and FAA FAR certification requirements and processes is an asset.

* Self-driven, analytical thinker with a focus on problem-solving and delivering results. *EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:* * Minimum 5 years working experience in the aerospace industry in the areas of engineering, design and or drafting.
* Minimum 2 years working experience with Solidworks *EDUCATION:* * B.Eng. Or B.Sc. (Eng) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
