Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As a Project Manager, Policy within the Business Strategy division, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies, policies, programs, and services to advance organizational objectives related to Business Strategies. You will provide strategic advice and policy recommendations to senior management, the CH Board of Directors, and external interested parties. Primary duties include:
- Develop a central corporate policy repository.
- Develop and implement a corporate policy workflow to ensure policy leads are aware of upcoming review dates and meet all required deadlines.
- Develop key performance indicators and report on policy management metrics.
- Work with corporate interested parties to develop and implement new strategic policies.
- Identify issues, conduct research and/or engagement with internal and external interested parties, identify and analyze options and develop recommendations to change and improve existing strategies, policy, and service delivery models.
- Provide analysis, strategic advice, and policy recommendations to advance the delivery of Business Strategies. Identify gaps, conduct research, develop policies and procedures, and make recommendations to various interested parties and approval levels.
- Conduct research, engagement, and analysis to respond to policy initiatives and programs from other orders of government.
- Initiate and lead project management activities, such as: determine project scope, engage with internal and external interested parties, assemble, and lead cross-corporate team members, identify and mitigate risks, monitor project progress, report back through oral and written reports to senior management and the CH Board of Directors.
- Support information management, records management and the access and privacy program.
Qualifications
- A degree in Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Work, or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience is required.
- Project management experience along with experience preparing and presenting project updates, briefing notes/reports for senior leadership, providing recommendations on complex issues is required.
- Governance experience and familiarity with risk, financial and legal agreements will be considered assets.
- Knowledge of affordable housing, poverty and poverty reduction, social work or related areas will be an asset.
- Success in this position requires you to demonstrate strong facilitation, prioritization, planning, organizing skills, and detail-orientation to meet challenging deadlines.
- You have excellent communication skills along with a well-developed ability to influence without authority.
- Strong business and political acumen and demonstrated professional judgement.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible for remote work as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Compensation: Pay Grade 13 $50.92 - 68.15 per hour
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
