As a Geospatial Analyst, you will work with a variety of teams and clients to deliver geospatial services and resolve cross-corporate geospatial issues for the Community Services Department. Primary duties include:

• Acquire, maintain, and optimize business unit and corporate geospatial datasets.
• Provide geospatial solutions by designing geospatial processes, developing and executing geospatial analysis and reporting, providing cartographic products, conducting public safety industry research and solution identification, and writing support reports and documentation.
• Provide a variety of desktop and web based mobile platform solutions for various internal clients across community services.
• Research, develop, and offer location-driven solutions for emergency response and community services.
• Resolve business issues by researching geospatial technologies related to community safety, emergency preparedness, prevention, response, recovery and mitigation; learn industry trends and document research information with others.

Qualifications

• A completed 2 year diploma in Applied GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Geomatics or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience; OR
• A degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Geomatics, or a related field and at least 3 years of related experience.
• An intermediate level of proficiency in ArcGIS Pro (Network and Spatial Analyst) and ArcGIS Online and associated tools/applications.
• An intermediate level understanding and use of spatial geodatabases and knowledge of Safe software's Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) and/or Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ModelBuilder is required.
• The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational and collaborative skills, along with excellent communication and problem solving.

Workstyle

• This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
