As the Application Administrator, you will be a Subject Matter Expert, providing user support and administration of the Microsoft Project Online tool to assist Information Technology (IT) Project Managers and teams to effectively plan projects, track status, manage capacity and track and allocate resources. Primary duties include:
- Respond to user requests for services and assists in resolving technical and functional problems that are received through Remedy, work orders, e-mails and phone calls; interface with the external service provider on 3rd level support issues.
- Initiate and close projects in Project Online by performing duties such as collecting and filing data, setting up and revising budget and billing information, enforcing threshold levels, correcting data and ensuring processes are adhered to.
- Provide technical information to Project Online users including designing and delivering classroom training and Lunch-and-Learn sessions, providing one- on-one coaching and mentoring, updating the IT Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) website with training materials and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and administering and updating the PMIS SharePoint site.
- Conduct analysis of statistical data and metrics to identify emerging issues and problems and quality assurance reports to verify accuracy of data, reviews reports for anomalies or variations, generates reports and resolves discrepancies.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience, of which at least 2 are of using a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solution; OR
- A completed 2 year technical diploma from a recognized education institution with at least 8 years of related experience, of which at least 4 are using a PPM solution.
- Experience with Project Management, Structured Query Language (SQL), programming, Microsoft Project Online or Project Server Administration, project management tools and processes and best practices are considered assets.
- Experience with Share Point Management and Application Support are considered assets.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, business analyst courses such as Gathering and Documenting Requirements, Process and Workflow Modeling and Project Management Basics are considered assets.
- Success in this position requires a commitment to consistency and attention to detail, excellent problem solving and analytical skills as well as strong organizational skills and excellent ability to prioritize and multitask.
