The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $48,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. The Support Services Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the operations of support services within the facility, including food service, housekeeping, and laundry. This role involves strategic oversight of staff and resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing budgets, and driving continuous quality improvement.

If you were to come on board as our Support Services Supervisor we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Directs the recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary procedures for support services staff. Train, onboard, and mentor staff on workplace safety, sanitation standards, infection control procedures, and proper use of equipment; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of housekeeping, laundry, and support service staff within a long-term care (LTC) facility to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
  • Resolve staff-related issues and respond to resident and family concerns regarding environmental and support services, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes.
  • Oversee and develop annual plans and training calendar aligned with operational goals and compliance standards. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, including WHMIS guidelines, and promote a safe working environment for all staff. Ensure the Compass Health and Safety program is in place, including an active OH& S committee, H&S training and audits.
  • Maintain and control inventory of cleaning supplies, laundry materials, and service-related resources; coordinate procurement to ensure adequate stock levels and cost efficiency. Interact with suppliers and vendors regarding the provision of support services where required.
  • Plan and manage daily and long-term operations of support services, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and client expectations.
  • Leads the on-site review and optimization of job routines, programs, and systems to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks across housekeeping, laundry, and support service operations, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Liaison with public health officials and other regulatory agencies regarding the provision of support services during licensing and other related inspection processes during inspections
  • Attends client meetings and maintains regular communication to ensure satisfaction and alignment with service expectations.
  • Take the lead and coordinate schedules for environmental special projects.
  • Ensure all Compass HR programs are in place and complete for support services staff, including CHAT, Be-A-Star, HERO, Weekly Safety Minders, etc.
  • Supervise support service staff involved in meal preparation support, portioning, and meal distribution to residents according to client menus and care plans/dietary restrictions.
  • Monitor compliance with sanitation, food handling, and safety procedures related to meal distribution services within the facility.
