The Lifestyle Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing engaging lifestyle, wellness, and recreational programs that enhance the quality of life, independence, and overall well-being of residents in an Assisted Living community. This role leads the development of meaningful resident-centered activities while fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant community environment.
Now, if you were to come on board as our Lifestyle Manager, we'd ask you to do the following for us:
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver a comprehensive lifestyle and wellness program that meets the social, physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents.
- Plan and facilitate a variety of activities, events, outings, fitness programs, educational sessions, and entertainment opportunities that promote engagement and resident satisfaction.
- Encourage resident participation through relationship-building, individualized programming, and ongoing assessment of resident interests and preferences.
- Oversee the management of activity spaces, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
- Manage departmental budgets, participation statistics, and program reporting requirements.
- Purchase and maintain activity supplies, decorations, program materials, and equipment as required.
- Track inventory and ensure adequate resources are available to support scheduled programs and special events.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, community partners, and the leadership team.
- Recruit, supervise, coach, train, and support Lifestyle team members and volunteers.
- Develop promotional materials including calendars, newsletters, posters, digital communications, and resident updates.
- Plan and coordinate special events, themed celebrations, community partnerships, seasonal programs, and resident recognition activities.
- Ensure all documentation, assessments, attendance records, and reports are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support resident move-ins, welcome initiatives, and integration into community life.
- Perform all duties in the safest possible manner and report all incidents, workplace injuries, and Health & Safety concerns in accordance with company policies and procedures.

- Diploma or degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation & Leisure Studies, Social Services, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience coordinating lifestyle, recreation, wellness, or resident engagement programs in seniors' living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related setting.
- Experience leading, coaching, or supervising staff and/or volunteers.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Strong resident-focused approach with a passion for enhancing the lives of seniors.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities, events, and activities effectively.
- Creativity and enthusiasm in developing engaging programs and community events.
- Ability to assess residents' needs and adapt programming to varying abilities and interests.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and resident engagement software platforms.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support resident programs and special events.
