Property & Exhibit Technician II

*** This posting is for one (1) temporary full-time position that may continue until July 9, 2027 *** The Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) highly organized and competent Property Technician to work in our Property & Exhibit Unit. The major responsibilities of this position are: - Taking in, categorization, location, protection, care and disposition of court relevant exhibits and property. - Operating in high security areas, members in this position are responsible for ensuring accountability, accuracy, security, and safe handling of all exhibits submitted as evidence to the Property & Exhibit Unit. - Review and/or copy a variety of audio and video data to prepare data for Crown/Court/disclosure purposes, which requires strict adherence to policies and procedures, as well as the efficient entry and removal of data from various databases. - Safe operation of a 1-ton cube van, ½ ton truck, or any other Class 5 vehicle to facilitate the retrieval and transport of property. - Providing customer service to police members, owners, finders, and claimants. - Safe use and operation of small power hand tools, metal shearing machine, and forklift/reach truck. - Completing special assignments as assigned.
