If so, consider bringing your talent to our multi-disciplinary team. About the jobIn this challenging position, you will:
• prepare recommendations regarding the planning, design, construction and maintenance of highway facilities
• supervise engineering service provider assignments
• carry out on-site investigations and prepare reports
• analyse and evaluate field and laboratory test data
• provide technical information and advice to staff, service providers, stakeholders and special interest groups
• evaluate pavement conditions and develop maintenance/rehabilitation strategies
Please note: fieldwork and occasional overnight travel is a requirement of this position. What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements• The position requires the successful candidate to have a valid G licence or equivalent. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidate providing proof that s/he has a valid driver's licence upon being hired.
Technical Knowledge:• You have demonstrated knowledge of geotechnical engineering materials.
• You have knowledge of the principles and practices of soils and pavement evaluation, investigation, testing and design as well as highway construction and maintenance practices.
• You are proficient with computers and software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
Analytical, Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills:• You have the ability to analyze a problem by identifying critical factors, research, define causes, define possible solutions, and select best solution.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:• You are able to promote the effective delivery of multi-disciplinary projects
• You have proven ability to work effectively both individually and in teams to negotiate resolve, advise, report and present technical and administrative information
