A career as a Senior Manager, Custody Operations & Client Services at National Bank Trust means leading a team of experienced custody professionals responsible for delivering operational excellence and exceptional service to our institutional clients.
In this role, you will oversee a diverse group of senior specialists supporting custody operations, client servicing, cash management, trade settlement, asset servicing, client reporting, ETF-related operations and billing activities. You will play a key role in fostering a high-performance culture, driving continuous improvement, strengthening operational controls, and supporting the continued growth of National Bank Trust's institutional custody business.
Your Role
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 10 to 15 senior professionals across Custody Operations, Client Services, and Billing functions.
- Provide leadership and guidance on complex operational issues, client escalations, risk events, and service-related challenges.
- Ensure the effective execution of critical custody activities, including securities settlement, cash management, reconciliations, asset servicing, client servicing, and custody billing.
- Oversee the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of client billing processes while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Partner with institutional clients and internal stakeholders to resolve complex operational and service-related issues and deliver sustainable solutions.
- Drive operational efficiency through process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization efforts.
- Promote a strong risk management culture by ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor operational performance, service metrics, client satisfaction indicators, and departmental results to ensure exceptional outcomes.
- Lead organizational change initiatives and contribute to the modernization of custody operating models and service delivery practices.
Your Team
You will lead a Toronto-based team of senior professionals responsible for supporting institutional custody clients across Canada.
The team combines deep operational expertise with strong client servicing capabilities and includes professionals specializing in custody operations, client support, and billing activities. The group serves as a critical link between clients, operations, technology teams, product partners, and other business stakeholders.
As a people leader, your success will be measured by your ability to develop talent, strengthen engagement, manage operational risk, enhance client outcomes, and drive organizational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience within custody services, securities operations, investment operations, asset servicing, fund administration, or a related institutional financial services environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams within custody operations, institutional client servicing, securities operations, or related functions.
- Strong understanding of custody products, securities settlement, cash management, reconciliations, corporate actions, asset servicing, operational controls, and client servicing activities.
- Knowledge of institutional custody billing practices, fee structures, and related operational processes is considered a strong asset.
- Proven experience leading teams through change, transformation, growth initiatives, and process improvement programs.
