about the team

We design bags and small accessories for how people move now, and how they might move next.

Bags are a significant part of the lululemon business, with a real opportunity to push the category creatively. We're interested in the space between fashion and sport: intelligent function, beautiful materials and product with a distinct point of view.

We're looking for a Senior Designer who can help us define what the next generation of lululemon bags looks like.

about the role

You'll concept and design bags across seasonal and core collections.

You'll bring a strong creative point of view and exceptional taste, while understanding the detail and technical thinking required to make genuinely great bags.

You will:

• Create original, relevant product that moves the category forward.
• Translate ideas through strong sketching, CAD, Renders and sampling.
• Explore the intersection of fashion, sport, movement and modern life.
• Work directly with development, materials, sourcing and manufacturing partners to push construction, hardware and execution.
• Bring a sophisticated understanding of bags, leather goods and the wider fashion landscape without simply following trends.
• Present ideas clearly and be comfortable evolving and editing your work.
• Mentor younger designers and contribute generously to the wider creative team.
• Manage several projects and seasons without losing the detail.

who you are

You're a bag designer first.

You have a sophisticated eye, strong instincts and deep knowledge of how bags are made. Your background might be in luxury or fashion, but you're curious about performance, movement and the possibilities that come from designing outside traditional fashion codes.

You care about proportion, material, construction and the small decisions that make a product feel exceptional.

You're creatively ambitious but low ego. You like working with other people, sharing ideas and making the work better together. You nurture younger talent and bring energy to a team rather than competing with it.

Most importantly, you want to make something new.

We're interested in designers who can bring a different perspective to lululemon and are excited by the scale of the creative opportunity here.

qualifications

• 8+ years designing bags and accessories.
• A portfolio showing exceptional taste, originality and strong bag design across different constructions and use cases.
• Deep knowledge of bag construction, materials, trims, hardware and manufacturing.
• Experience taking product from concept through development and commercialization.
• Experience working directly with international suppliers and manufacturers.
• Strong sketching, CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
• Confident communicator and collaborative creative partner.

compensation and benefits package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $129,000 – $169,300 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.

workplace arrangement

In-person collaboration and/or office-based work is necessary or important for the role. Work is mainly performed onsite, minimum 4 days per week.
