What You'll Do:
  • Professionally carry out duties following Nutrien safety principles and priorities
  • Support all aspects of site safety systems
  • Work closely with the Mine Engineering and Mine Operations to ensure support is being provided to site in an efficient manner
  • Install survey control stations underground according to mining layouts for the direction of mining advancement
  • Provide survey control for underground construction projects
  • Maintain accuracy of survey control networks
  • Create mine survey drawings showing survey station locations and mining designs
  • Monitor heat, dust, and air quality levels in the mine as required
  • Install, maintain, and record data from underground rock mechanics/ventilation instrumentation as directed by the Mine Engineer
  • Scan and analyze point-cloud data of underground workings
  • Provide Mine Technician specific training to new hires
  • Maintain, repair, and procure survey instrumentation, tools, and materials
What You'll Bring:
  • Mining Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent or greater
  • 1-5 years experience in a surveying or technician role
  • Comfortable navigating and utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Word & Excel)
  • Ability to work independently and is self-motivated to help drive positive improvement
  • Experience with computer drafting programs (Deswik, Microstation, AutoCAD)
  • Underground mining experience would be an asset
  • Experience with modern survey equipment. Familiarity with robotic total station and point-cloud scanning instruments would be an asset
