About Us
The Health Services I&IT Cluster provides information management and information technology solutions that support the business requirements of the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement and its agents. The cluster enables the Ontario government's I&IT Strategy and plays a leadership role in major business transformation initiatives and infrastructure projects.
The Emergency Health I&IT Solutions and Technology Management Branch is responsible for supporting Emergency Health Ambulance Dispatch within the province. We are transforming our solutions and data analysis needs by building and supporting real-time dashboards, reporting solutions, and mobile applications.
Our large and mission critical operations supporting 9-1-1 ambulance communication results in close collaboration with ambulance dispatch operational managers, paramedic services, ORNGE, other first responders and hospital emergency departments to ensure communication technologies are running smoothly and are well integrated to support policies and programs under the Ontario Ambulance Act. EHSTMB plans for and implements new, best-in-class technologies that prioritize 9-1-1 calls and help dispatchers and first responders assure the right resources are assigned to the right place, with the right information, at the right time. In this role, you will:
• provide senior technical consulting expertise designing, developing, implementing and supporting advanced interactive applications and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI and Azure cloud technologies
• design, develop and maintain data solutions utilizing technologies such as Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Streaming Analytics, Data Factory and Databricks
• develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, data structures, data transformation processes and reporting solutions
• lead the design and implementation of data models, dashboards, reports and analytics solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making
• provide technical leadership and guidance on software development, data integration and solution design initiatives
• evaluate emerging technologies, recommend improvements and support implementation of enterprise data and reporting solutions
• identify training and knowledge transfer requirements for project teams and stakeholders
• coordinate the collection, analysis and interpretation of system and business data to support ongoing improvements and project deliverables
Note: Occasional travel throughout the province may be required to provide technical support to stakeholders. What you bring to the team
Technical Skills and ExperienceYou have:
• thorough knowledge of large-scale, complex systems analysis techniques and methodologies, design and development, programming concepts and languages, internet/intranet technology and emerging technologies
• strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for data querying and transformation
• strong proficiency in writing SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers
• experience developing ETL pipelines, data warehousing solutions and integrating data from multiple data sources for analytics and reporting
• proven experience designing, developing and deploying data models, dashboards and reports using Power BI
• experience creating and maintaining dimensional data models
• experience with real-time data integration, event processing and streaming technologies
• expertise in DAX and Power Query (M Language) for creating dynamic and optimized business intelligence solutions
• familiarity with data governance, data quality standards and best practices for managing sensitive information
• demonstrated senior-level experience across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
• experience working with web services and API integrations
• experience developing secure, scalable applications leveraging cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• demonstrated experience with testing methodologies and application quality assurance practices
• experience debugging, refactoring and optimizing both legacy and modern codebases
• experience supporting mission-critical operational environments and stakeholders.

• experience providing technical leadership on large and complex IT initiatives
• experience leading technical work, coordinating project activities and supporting delivery of project outcomes within established timelines
• experience working on multiple concurrent initiatives and managing competing priorities
• experience providing guidance and mentorship to technical team members and project stakeholders.
