Our client is a health and wellness platform built on expert human judgment rather than generic AI. The app pairs members with guides created by leading experts across neuroscience, nutrition, longevity, and human performance, turning decades of specialized knowledge into personalized, everyday guidance.
For members, the product delivers clarity and confidence in the health decisions that matter most. For the experts behind it, it is a way to scale their life's work while retaining ownership of what they have built.
This role owns what happens after a member installs the app. You will design the activation and retention systems that turn a first session into a daily habit, run the experiment program that proves what actually works, and set the activation and retention roadmap without waiting on founder sign-off. You will work day to day across senior engineers, designers, and the growth marketing team.
This is an on-site role in Old Montreal. It is not a fit if you need remote work, if you would rather watch dashboards than run experiments, or if you need someone else to prepare the data before you can dig into it.
You will:
• Own activation and retention end to end, including the onboarding journey and the retention mechanics (streaks, milestones) that make it stick
• Run the analytics yourself in PostHog, defining and defending the metrics rather than waiting on a data team
• Question the instrumentation before trusting a number, and confirm the events are right before reading a drop-off
• Run real experiments with sized samples and stated windows, and retest every winner before acting on it
• Set the activation and retention roadmap and drive it across engineering, design, and marketing
• Bring product taste to what gets cut, not only what gets added
Must Have Skills:
• Demonstrated track record moving activation, retention, or monetization metrics in a consumer app or free-to-play game, with the specific numbers to back it up
• Self-sufficient in PostHog or an equivalent product analytics tool: you build your own funnels and cohorts, not file requests for them
• Skeptical about instrumentation by default: you question the events before interpreting the data
• Credibility with senior engineers and designers, and a history of driving alignment across functions without formal authority
• Strong product judgment about what to remove, not just what to add
• Based in Greater Montreal and able to work on site in Old Montreal
Nice to Have Skills:
• Experience with habit-forming consumer products in health, wellness, fitness, learning, or games
• Comfortable setting and defending metric definitions in code and pull requests
• A background that blends product management with growth marketing, close to acquisition and lifecycle work
