What You'll Do:
  • Act as part of a team that is responsible for providing financial and operations accounting expertise to support plant accounting functions
  • Day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department with major emphasis on completion of month-end procedures including preparation of journal entries, analyzing financials, and communicating the results to management and various stakeholders
  • Become a subject matter expert for processes included in your role, which may include complex agreements
  • Complete and improve month-end close processes
  • Participate in policy alignment initiatives and implementation
  • Raw material and finished product cost accounting
  • Understand, identify, and implement required internal controls, including certification reporting, audit responses, and SOX controls
  • Participate in the physical asset and product inventory verification process
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are effectively analyzed and managed
  • Provide oversight of capital project and asset accounting, including project approvals, assisting with project setup, asset verifications, and property tax reporting
  • Prepare moderate- and high-risk account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Perform other related duties as required
What You'll Bring:
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field, with a professional accounting designation or working towards
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Experience working in a plant environment is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Accounting/financial concepts and principles
  • Understanding of GAAP/IFRS applications in a business environment
  • Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data base tools such as Power Query
  • Strong communications and collaboration skills along with interpersonal awareness
  • Commitment to deadlines and attention to detail
