About the role
Are you a strategic thinker who thrives on turning ideas into action? The Project Manager, Unclaimed Properties Office (UPO) Modernization plays a key role in shaping the future of the UPO by leading the planning, coordination and implementation of a portfolio of initiatives focused on process improvement, operational effectiveness, governance enhancement, data and reporting, service delivery, and business readiness.
What you will do
Working closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and partner departments, you will translate operational improvement opportunities and strategic priorities into actionable plans that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will act as a catalyst for change, ensuring initiatives are delivered effectively while maintaining stakeholder engagement, minimizing operational disruption, and supporting long-term organizational success.
More specifically, you will:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of complex business and operational improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage project charters, implementation roadmaps, project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Establish and maintain effective governance and reporting structures.
- Prepare executive briefings, status reports, presentations, and decision-support materials for leadership.
- Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder meetings to drive alignment and informed decision-making.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across multiple business units and partner departments.
- Identify and resolve project issues, risks, and implementation barriers.
- Support change management and business readiness activities to ensure successful adoption of new processes and ways of working.
- Champion Lean and continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Capture lessons learned, promote knowledge sharing and best practices across projects, and embed these insights to adapt and improve practices as the project evolves.
What you need to succeed
You are a strategic and highly organized project professional with a proven track record of leading complex initiatives and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders. You bring strong expertise in project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and implementation practices, enabling you to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and measurable results. You excel at managing competing priorities, assessing risks, and solving complex problems with sound judgment and a results-oriented mindset. Through your exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills, you effectively influence and collaborate with partners at all levels of the organization. You are comfortable preparing executive-level reports, presentations, and briefing materials, and you thrive in dynamic environments where priorities evolve, ambiguity exists, and organizational change creates opportunities for innovation and impact.
Nice-to-have
- Experience leading organizational transformation, operational excellence, or business modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of Lean methodologies, continuous improvement frameworks, or process optimization techniques.
- Experience supporting governance enhancement, service delivery improvement, or business readiness programs.
- Experience working within a public sector, regulatory, financial services, or similarly complex organizational environment.
- Familiarity with change management approaches and organizational impact assessments.
Your education and experience
The position requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, project management, organizational development or another relevant field, a professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent) and seven years of experience of project-delivery experience or business transformation initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Language requirementThe Bank's work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada's official languages - English and French. The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional). Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank's hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $126,765 to $149,135 (job grade 18)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
