We're looking for our next Senior Software Engineer. Could It Be You?

We're building the next-generation Loan Origination System for Questbank's Secured Lending business — a distributed, event-sourced platform that powers how we take a loan from application to funding. It's a microservices architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), designed from the ground up with Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, and CQRS.

As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you'll design and build core services end to end, from domain modelling through to production support. You'll work across a .NET backend and an Angular frontend, and you'll own the quality of what you ship — including the automated tests that keep us moving fast. We're looking for someone who thinks like an owner: someone who understands the business problem behind the ticket and helps shape the product, not just implement it.

Need more details? Keep reading…

  • Design and build microservices for the Loan Origination System using Domain-Driven Design as the foundation for how we model the business.

  • Implement and evolve an Event-Sourced system with CQRS — designing aggregates, events, projections, and read models.

  • Build and integrate services across two communication patterns: asynchronous messaging via Pub/Sub and synchronous HTTP.

  • Develop backend services in .NET and contribute to the Angular frontend.

  • Deploy and operate services on GCP.

  • Write and maintain automated tests across the stack, including end-to-end coverage.

  • Provide production support for the systems you build — diagnosing issues, improving observability, and keeping services healthy.

  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate lending needs into well-designed software, bringing a product mindset to technical decisions.

So are YOU our next Senior Software Engineer? You are if you…

  • Senior-level experience building backend services in .NET.

  • Hands-on experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and a solid grasp of its core patterns and strategic design.

  • Production experience with Event Sourcing.

  • Production experience with CQRS.

  • Experience designing and building distributed, microservices-based systems.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP.

  • Experience with both asynchronous (Pub/Sub-style messaging) and synchronous (HTTP/REST) communication patterns.

  • Frontend development experience with Angular.

  • A track record of writing automated tests and treating quality as part of delivery.

  • Real production support experience — you've been on the hook for the systems you've shipped.

  • A product mindset: you care about the user and business outcome, ask "why," and help shape what gets built.

  • Tech stack at a glance

    • Backend: .NET

    • Frontend: Angular

    • Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

    • Architecture: Distributed microservices, Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, CQRS

    • Communication: Async (Pub/Sub), Sync (HTTP)

    • Testing: Automated tests across the stack; Playwright / Cypress an asset

Additional kudos if you…

  • Experience with Playwright and/or Cypress for end-to-end testing.
Experience in financial services, lending, or mortgage/secured-lending domains.

Compensation Information:

  • Base salary range: $120,000 - $150,000

  • The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
